Conceal Don’t Feel: Benefits of Concealed Weaponry in a Split Ideological Society
Due to recent events, many Americans are out looking for ways to defend themselves from attacks both foreign and domestic. The question is no longer, if people are going to look for defense, it is how they are going to do it. With stricter gun laws being enforced around the nation, it seems as though it will be harder for Americans to appeal to their 2nd amendment and apply for a concealed weapons permit. Most states now require all concealed weapons buyers to take and pass a concealed weaponry class. However, rather than looking at it as an extra step, taking the course has many benefits attached to it.
When anyone takes a concealed weapons class, most instructors focus on safety and responsibility with guns. By doing so, you get to learn more than just the do’s and don’ts. You get to learn the laws, your rights, procedures, protocols, and even on the guns themselves. It opens the dialogue about gun situations where defense is needed. While also showing you how to handle yourself and what works best for you.
With more education on gun laws, safety, and consumer needs companies are beginning to protect people by adapting their brands. Brands like “Under Tech” and “Concealed Undercover” are developing clothes for women to hide their concealed weapons so they do not have to keep their guns in their purses. Other brands such as “HomStuff” create furniture set ups that use magnet technology to lock up guns and ammo in normal looking furniture. This helps those who keep self-defense items in the home from displaying them to guests or home cleaning services. There is no way of knowing these furniture pieces are safes unless the person themselves is familiar with the brand, and even then by using magnet technology it would be extremely difficult to get inside the safe. Ultimately cutting down on gun theft.
By taking a class with an instructor and other classmates you will be able to connect and work with people from all backgrounds to better your skills and education. The people taking the class will be there to learn just as you are. Everyone will have a story and everyone will have a reason why they joined. It is the perfect opportunity to build connections and work side by side with people who have the same interests as you.
The process may not be as fast as many want, but the benefits of enrolling in concealed weapons classes will eliminate stereotypes and add a sense of responsibility to those applying.
