Porterville, CA Fresno gun dealers say a series of gun control laws moving through the California Legislature are unfair to law-abiding owners of weapons and will do nothing to stop violent crime. One of the dealers, is carrying a battle against the proposals to the courts to challenge the first piece of the legislation signed by Gov. Jerry Brown. The bill would use a $24 million surplus from fees paid during firearm purchases to fund a program that takes guns away from people prohibited from owning them. The lawsuit contends the use of the funds for that purpose is unconstitutional.
