AGI American Gunsmithing Institute In Rancho Cordova, CA Has Over Two Decades Of Experience
Two decades ago, American Gunsmithing Institute (AGI) Founder and President Gene Kelly saw an increased demand for gunsmiths in the firearms industry in Rancho Cordova, CA and realized that there was a growing need to train new gunsmiths on a faster and more efficient basis.
Kelly made it a goal to preserve the art of gunsmithing for future generations and to provide a way for gun enthusiasts in Rancho Cordova, CA to pursue their hobbies from the comfort of their own homes through AGI’s course load.
With over 330 million firearms in this country, at any given time 10 to 20 percent of those are in some need of cleaning, repair or customizing. After WWII, a large crop of new gunsmiths appeared, but now they are retiring or passing away and demand for new, young blood in the gunsmith world in Rancho Cordova, CA is growing.
Gunsmithing Programs Offered Across the Country
Prior to AGI’s founding, gunsmithing programs were only offered in Rancho Cordova, CA at a couple of campus based schools and most people could not afford to attend them so the number of gunsmiths continued to decline.
This gave Kelly the idea to found AGI. Using Master Gunsmith Bob Dunlap’s teaching methodology, combined with the video techniques developed by AGI, Kelly was able to create a unique teaching method that allowed students to learn at home in Rancho Cordova, CA at their own pace. And thus, AGI was born. Since its inception in 1993, AGI has gone on to use this same method to teach people welding, machining, locksmithing and other trade skills.

Rancho Cordova, CA, On July 1, 2003, after more than 20 years of advocacy, the City of Rancho Cordova officially incorporated, becoming the 478th city in the State of California. Located in the eastern part of Sacramento County, Rancho Cordova is a community with a rich history including the first 12 miles of railroad in California, a thriving military base in its time, and the home of a successful aerospace company.
The community chose to incorporate in order to retain and improve its identity and quality of life, to increase representation and accessibility of local government, to provide greater control over local land use, planning, and regulatory matters, and to provide an increased level of service to Rancho Cordova residents.
The voters of the community showed overwhelming support for the incorporation ballot measure on November 5, 2002, voting 77.6 percent in approval of incorporation, and the city’s first Council members were also elected on November 5, 2002, and included Mayor David Roberts, Linda Budge, Robert McGarvey, Kenneth Cooley, and David Sander, longtime residents and leaders in the Rancho Cordova community.
In 2010, the City accomplished another milestone with the annexation of a 1.2 square mile sliver of land south of US 50, between Sunrise and Hazel avenues. This brings into the City limits a stretch of viable businesses originally intended to be part of the City. Now these businesses will also have better representation and improved services.
The City of Rancho Cordova has a Council-manager form of government with five members elected to the Council, one of whom serves as mayor for a year. The Mayor's post is that of "chief among equals for a time."
If you are a resident of an incorporated city in SBC with a PD, contact them and ask for a copy of their CCW policy and an application. You can try to obtain information over the phone or your PD website, but it is best to appear in person. It is rare to find a Law Enforcement Agency that will answer CCW license questions over the phone or mail you an application. Obtain the name and title of the person who provides you the CCW policy and application. Once your PD furnishes you with their CCW license policy and an application, you have cleared a very significant hurdle

The southwestern boundary of the grant was 300 feet west of Bradshaw not far north of Florin Road. The boundary then went due east over to "Grantline" Road, and northeast along the roadway.
"If there's someone present with a gun when a mass shooting begins, the shooter is likely to be shot himself," Reynolds wrote. "And, in fact, many mass shootings from the high school shooting byLuke Woodham in Pearl, Miss., to theNew Life Church shootingin Colorado Springs, Colo., where an armed volunteer shot the attacker have been terminated when someone retrieved a gun from a car or elsewhere and confronted the shooter."
