Ridgeland, MS – A robbery where the victim was unarmed and could not defend himself.  Police have a man in custody for an armed robbery. Police arrested the suspect as he emerged from a wooded area. They say around 11 a.m. the suspect approached a cashier in the parking lot of the Shell gas station on Old Canton Road and County Line Road.

The cashier was holding a cash deposit. The suspect displayed a gun and demanded the cash, then fled on foot heading south along Old Canton Road. He was arrested after a brief foot chase with police.

 

Ridgeland, MS –  Two people have been sentenced for robbing a credit union in Ridgeland in which employees were handcuffed and bound.

One suspect went in the back door of the credit union just after closing and restrained two employees with handcuffs and duct tape before using black spray paint to cover the video cameras in the bank.

He then ordered the employees to unlock the bank vault and loaded a large amount of cash into several bags. The suspect locked the employees in the vault and left the bank. One of the employees was able to free herself and call 911.
