La Crosse, WI  - The issue of gun safety is being put front and center by Wisconsin police chiefs. They’re pushing for tighter restrictions on gun buyers. Now, they're trying to take their fight for across-the-board background checks nationwide.

More than 150,000 prospective gun buyers in Wisconsin have gone through background checks so far in 2012. "What they're looking for is somebody that's not legally authorized to possess that firearm, somebody such as a convicted felon, somebody that's been recently issued or under a restraining order, domestic abuse type of situation, and also there are some reasons under the mental health law,"  

La Crosse, WI  -  Why store clerks should be armed for self-defense! There was an armed robbery that occurred at the Clark Station, 2308 Rose St in the City of La Crosse. La Crosse Police were called by the clerk/owner of the Clark Station whom reported a robbery.

The clerk reported a white male suspect had entered the store and came up to the counter to purchase an item. The suspect then came towards the clerk, pushing him away from the cash register and grabbed money that was out behind the counter. The suspect then fled the store on foot.
