Saugus, CA, 30 years ago, the City of Santa Clarita became the largest area ever to incorporate. Saugus, along with Canyon Country, Valencia and Newhall are all parts of the City of Santa Clarita. The City of Santa Clarita hired LA County police and fire to provide services. Cops are like flies at times. (good thing) Saugus does have a traffic problem at rush hour mostly down Bouquet Cyn Road and on out to the freeways.
It, as part of the city is in one of the safest cities in S. Ca. Crime is low and schools are good. Parts of Saugus are just extentions of Valencia as far as housing density.
There's very good single family homes in some areas of Saugus, with prices less than Valencia and there's other areas that have more condos and therefore more people that come and go. Going out the back side of Saugus gets you into rural areas. Saugus has less shopping and is more of a bedroom community.
