Spring, TX, Old Town Spring Texas is a Beautiful place within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of Houston in Harris County, Texas, 20 miles (32 km) north of Downtown Houston. Spring continues north of the Harris county line into Montgomery County, along Spring Creek onwards to the edges of Oak Ridge North to the east and The Woodlands to the west. The area along Sawdust Road and Rayford Road (splitting at I-45) is technically not part of The Woodlands yet it's proximity the community could be assumed as such. The Woodlands is currently only a Township although it does have a post office bearing the name "The Woodlands, Texas."

Spring, TX, The area now known as Spring was originally inhabited by the Orcoquiza Native Americans. In 1836 the Texas General Council of the Provisional Government placed what is now Spring, in Harrisburg municipality and in 1838 William Pierpont placed a trading post on Spring Creek. In 1840 Spring had 153 residents. By the mid-1840s many German immigrants, moved to the area and began farming. People from Louisiana and the post-United States Civil War Southern U.S. settled in Spring. the community has grown and now offers residents manny choices.
