TUSCALOOSA, AL  - A gun saves a family!, When Tuscaloosa police got to the scene of a home invasion on Sunday morning, they found the homeowner holding the suspect at gunpoint.  

The homeowner told officers he and his wife were having breakfast on their back porch when a masked man holding a machete confronted them and said, "Take me to your valuables." Pearman was armed with a Gerber Bear Grylls machete with an orange handle and 13.5 inch blade.

The homeowner retrieved his handgun and chased down Pearman, holding him at gunpoint until police arrived.

TUSCALOOSA, AL  - A home owner fights back with a gun, Tuscaloosa authorities have charged one teenage suspect and may charge another in an attempted burglary from over the weekend.

The victim in the case, a 21-year-old man, fired shots at the would-be robbers when they tried to rob him at his home. It happened at an apartment in the 2200 block of 48th Street East.  The 21-year-old shot one of the suspects in the leg.
